Color is onmidirectional. Of the many dimensions of color its ability to communicate as a sign and as a symbol is of particular interest. Color is a primary signifier for cultures ancient and modern and inherent to the phenomena of color is its ability to communicate by analogy. My paintings, works on paper, photographs, books and polychrome sculpture explore color and meaning.  The embedded characteristics of color and its codification in nature and culture inform my idiosyncratic process of discovery, analysis and synthesis in my artwork.
