Color is onmidirectional. Of the many dimensions of color, its ability to communicate as a sign and as a symbol is of particular interest to me. Color is a primary signifier for ancient and modern cultures, and inherent to the phenomena of color is its ability to communicate by analogy. My paintings, works on paper, photographs, artists books and polychrome sculpture explore the nature of color.  The embedded characteristics of color and its codification in nature and culture inform my idiosyncratic process of discovery, analysis and synthesis in my artwork.
